WEATHER: It's generally about 4 degrees cooler in Piccadilly than it is in the city - so even in the height of summer you still get a little reprieve from the heat when you're at Woodhouse.
SHADE: The property is laden with well-established native trees, providing shelter and shade from the elements.
WATER: Cox's creek runs through the centre of the property from the natural springs of Piccadilly, so there is water to cool off in all year round - and two of the most popular obstacles on Challenge Hill wouldn't exist without it.
WATER-PLAY FUN: The '4 Rope Creek Crossing' and the 'Wade & Climb' obstacles are the reason we always suggest to bring a full change of clothes and shoes with you as, deliberate or not, you will likely wind up in the drink. Of course in summer, you'll dry off a little quicker anyway! While technically 'waterless waterslides', the popular Tube Slides require water for added speed, so the irrigation will give you a little freshen up on the way down.
WETLANDS: Aside from the environmental benefits of the constructed Woodhouse Wetlands, which you can find out all about on the Wetlands Trail Walk, this area just feels cooler when you take some time to listen to the water push through the plants and trickle through the rocks.
WHAT'S COOLER than spending a day on a 54 hectare natural wonderland where you can climb, crawl, swing and splash your way through more than 30 obstacles on Challenge Hill, tackle a giant split-level maze, whizz down two epic tube slides, negotiate one of seven orienteering courses or have a round of disc golf (think golf with a frisbee)? Camping on said natural wonderland.
Don't forget, our School Holidays UNPLUGGED 'drop & go' day camps have been designed with plenty of water play, activity choices and Christmas themed fun and games – and come with the Woodhouse ‘good night sleep’ guarantee. And, we have access to large air-conditioned spaces should hot weather insist we stay inside, so you can plan your day with confidence knowing the show will go on! Pretty cool, huh?
